Christopher M. Melnyczenko is an associate with Reimer & Dobrovolny Labor Law PC.  Mr. Melnyczenko focuses on labor and employment issues facing police officers and firefighters.  Christopher also represents their unions and pension funds in civil litigation and other legal matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Melnyczenko served in a municipal prosecutor role for the City of Chicago, Department of Law.  Mr. Melnyczenko successfully represented the Chicago Police Department in numerous hearings.  In addition, Mr. Melnyczenko was a staff member at The John Marshall Law School’s Veterans Legal Support Center and Clinic – a network of attorneys and law students who investigate, research, and represent veterans seeking benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University, Christopher worked several years as an analyst and associate consultant for Mellon Financial Corporation.  Mr. Melnyczenko was also a reporter for a subsidiary of ESPN, primarily covering the Chicago White Sox.

Mr. Melnyczenko earned his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, where he was on the Dean’s List; a team award recipient in the International Academy of Dispute Resolution Law School Mediation Tournament; a member of the Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics; and a member of the Justinian Society.  As a law student, Christopher interned for the Office of Attorney General of Illinois, Labor and Employment Division; and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Legal and Labor Affairs Division.

Mr. Melnyczenko is a licensed attorney in Illinois and Indiana, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Indiana State Bar Association.
